Normally I write about our couples here and tell you all about this Padua Hills Theatre Wedding, but I’m going to scoot over and let Rho, an avid Yelp writer (quite famously I might add) take over and tell you her and Len’s story.
“So I’m the bride, Rhonda Lynn Muyargas, or Rho as most call me, or Dragon lady or Human Garbage Disposal, whatever. I’m 30something — always been a bridesmaid, finally a bride. I basically work in risk management. My job is interestingly greusome — dealing with death and dismemberment is my forte. And I enjoy every bit of it. Food is my passion. I eat enough to feed a small army, or so I’ve been told. I hope my future husband has deep enough pockets to feed my constantly hungry belly. I love to dance, sing, though not well, and snowboard, also not well. I have a niche for writing, or at least that’s what the people on Yelp tell me. I will negotiate everything imaginable and I do it well. That’s probably how I got him to agree to marrying me.
I have a daughter who’s in junior high. She is both the apple of my eye and the thorn in my side. I wouldn’t have her any other way though. Well, maybe without the monthly PMS.
I have a large family and I infinitely indebted to them for helping shape the person I am.
My very [un]fortunate fiance is Lennan Kwan, or Len or bully as certain people would call him — though he denies it. He’s 4 years older, a total cradle robber. We are polar opposites I think. My job is to circumvent risk, his job is to put himself at risk. He works in the entertainment industry and gets paid the big bucks to climb and rappel from life-threatening heights. He is impressively very mechanically inclined. He’s Home Depot’s and Lowes most valued customer, everybody’s handyman. He loves building, zapping himself on electrical work and getting greasy underneath cars. He is way too nice, sometimes to a fault. I love and hate that about him. He wears pants and proper shirts only thrice a year (valentines, my birthday and a wild card day). Oh and he can’t dance, sing or write. Football, video games, snowboarding and fattening food are his simple joys.
He comes from a tight-knit family with 2 brothers, 2 sisters in law, a cute niece, a chubby nephew, and loving parents.
Oh you want The Story? Our story involves at least a decade of history so let’s cut it down to a twitter worthy post: We were best friends. Our feelings flourished over time. Very slowly but surely. Together, we overcame our personal battles and fell hard. And he kept feeding me.
More importantly, we’re here today, finally ready to get this party started — for life.”
Gloriously funny and grounded in a well-balanced love for each other. I’m both inspired and mystified by this couple’s photogenic images.
